Setting a Static IP address

IP addresses can be automatically assigned (using DHCP) by all Speedtouch routers.  In some cases, you may need to set these addresses statically on your computer.  You will need to do this, on the most part, for the following reasons;

  • For some reason you have turned off the built in DHCP server
  • You have a Release 4.0 router in factory defaults and need to access it
  • You are setting up some port forwards (NAPT entries)

There are other circumstances that may also require these addresses to be set.

Click on one of the following Links for a guide to setting up a static IP address on you PC/Mac.
