Enhancing Broadband

Once the on-site wiring has been completed and the 3 lights on the router are on and steady the router must be configured with the correct connection type, VPI/VCI settings and the account username and password.

This can be achieved in a few different way, firstly with the setup wizard on the CD, secondly using the easy setup wizard built into the router, and lastly by manually uploading a configuration file into the router via the web interface.

Instructions:

Setup Wizard on CD-ROM:

1. Insert the CD-ROM into the PC

2. The CD will auto-start with the following screen. Click on 'Next'

3. Click on 'Next' to start the setup wizard

4. Click on 'Next'

5. The package contents will now be listed. You can scroll along the list and you will see a picture of the corresponding part. Click on 'Next'

6. You will then have instructions on how to install filters, ensure that these have already been correctly fitted to your phone line. Click on 'Next'

7. If the Ethernet cable has not been plugged in correctly, follow the instruction on the screen. Click on 'Next'

8. If the router is not yet on, turn on the router by pressing the power button on the front. Click 'Next'.

9.Click 'Next' to start the router configuration.

10. The Setup wizard will not appear as below. Click 'Next'

11. Click 'Yes' to the licence agreement

12. The wizard will now search for the router and once it is found display the following screen. Click 'Next'.

13. Ensure the Xtra Jetstream service is selected and click 'Next'

14. Ensure the VPI/VCI is set to 0*100 and enter you username and password as supplied by your ISP and then click 'Next'

15. Enter a security username and password for the router. This username and password entered here is completely user defined. Click 'Next'

16. Click Start to start the configuration of the router.

17. The Wizard should have finished configuring the router and the finish screen will appear. Click on 'Finish'

18. Click on 'Next'

19. If you need to setup a new email account on the computer, fill in the appropriate details as prompted as seen below and click 'OK'. If all the emails account are already setup on the computer then click on 'Cancel'.

20. Click on 'End' to complete the Xtra Jetstream Setup Wizard.

The Setup should now be complete, you should have 3 green lights on the router and be able to surf the internet.
