Speedtouch Router Installation via R4.3 Embedded Wizard

Once the on-site wiring has been completed and the Power, DSL, and either the Ethernet or USB or WLAN LED's are Lit (depending on router type) the router must be configured with the correct connection service type, VPI/VCI settings and your ISP account details (username and password).

This can be achieved by using the easy setup wizard built into the router.

Note: In Release R4.3 the default router IP address has changed to 192.168.1.254, with a DHCP IP address range 192.168.1.64 to 192.168.1.253. The default username name is Administrator with no default password set. The old 10.0.0.138 IP address may still be used to access the router web server, but you will need to set up manual TCP/IP settings in your PC.

Instructions:

Built-in Easy Setup Wizard:

1. Open your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer)

2. The following welcome screen will be displayed - Click on 'Set up my SpeedTouch'.

3. If this the welcome screen does not appear, you can manually set setup from the web page, by navigating to SpeedTouch, then 'Pick a Task' > Setup.

4. The "Easy Setup should pop up > Click 'Next'

5. In the "Select a Service" box, select "Router" and > Click 'Next'

6. Service selection

  • For Telecom Jetstream / UBS Services select VPI/VCI > '0.100' and radial button 'PPPoverATM(PPPoA)'

  • For Telstra Clear Tempest Service select VPI/VCI > 0.100 and radial button 'PPPoverEthernet(PPPoE)'

7. Enter your ISP Username and Password, > Clink 'Next'

8. Enter the Router security username and password to protect the router's settings. Entering the username is mandatory (Default is Administrator), the password is optional. Please note the username and password are both CASE SENSITIVE > Click "Next"

9. The following screen will appear for you to review your entered settings. Make sure they are correct and > Clink 'Next'

10. The 'Please wait' screen will be displayed while the router is being configured.

11. After the wizard has configured the router, the completion window will be displayed > Clink 'Finish'

Your Router should now be configured and the internet (@) LED should now be green and you will be able to surf the internet.
